The local, transactional e-commerce websites that i want to review is the website of Golden Screen Cinema. Golden Screen Cinema is well-known for its quality of their mega halls and services of their staffs. There are approximately 24 outlets of GSC throughout Malaysia. Which means thousands and thousands of people would log on to the website to check out what is the latest movie and etc.
The photo above shows the outlook of GSC website. It is a websites with many fixtures, such as we can check for the show times of movies available 24/7, membership sign in section is for members to log in and we can book out tickets so that we could avoid long queue.

The photo below shows how annoying it would be to have a long queue in front of you when you wanna buy tickets. The websites has made our job easy and we can collect our tickets before the movie starts without any queuing.

There is a cineplex which is newly opened in Tropicana City, through website, we can get the free screening coupon and enjoy the new and luxurious environment for a movie.

Phishing is defined as the process of criminally fraudulent to acquire a person personal information such as user name, password or credit card information. The websites created is almost identical and it is usually difficult to be identified whether it is real or fake by normal citizens.

It was the year 1960 , the first ever step in making the history of Ecommerce

--The developmnet of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

EDI is a set of standards developed to exchange business information and to to electronic transactions.

In the early stage, there were several EDI formats that business could use, so many companies might not be able to interact with each other.

However in 1982, ASC X12 standard became stable and reliable in transfering large amounts of transctions.

The next major step occurred in 1992 when the Mosaic web-browser was made available, it was the first ‘point and click’ browser.

The Mosaic browser was quickly adapted into a downloadable browser, Netscape, which allowed easier access to electronic commerce.

The development of DSL was another key moment in the development to of e-commerce. DSL allowed quicker access and a persistent connection to the Internet.

Until today, ecommerce has been a media for world wide business transaction play a major role in the world of business of now a days.

The word "GOOGLE UP" has been widely used in our daily conversation which means look through the information from google.com. Google.com is owned by Google Inc. and it is the most-used search engine on the Web. It is available in over 20 types of language around the world such as Afrikaans Chinese,Bulgarian,Arabic,Danish,Dutch and etc. Therefore, there is no doubt that Google has been identified as the most powerful brand in the world.

Besides that, it has make our life more simple, instead of troubling yourself to search the information from websites to websites, what we have to do is just key in the keyword, and the websites regarding the information we seek will appear.

Google as Mass Storage For E-mails

In the 20th century, most of the time we will use E-mail to communicate with each other such as in business field to communicate with client, in education field to communicate within student and lecturers or even making new friends. Sometimes, most of us will have problem in making decision on which E-mail to delete because of limited storage in out E-mail account.

This matter has been solved ever since Google Inc. had introduced Gmail.
Most of the E-mail account only offers up to 4MB free space, while Gmail currently offers 7300MB to their users. The user can store over 1000 of E-mails and they won't have to worry about deciding which E-mail to delete anymore.

There is no wonder Gmail ranked 2nd in PC worlds 100 best products back in 2005.

Other than that, if you have difficulties searching for place that you wanted to go, feel free to click on Google map. It is a web mapping service application and technology which provide high resolution satellite images for a lot of countries and cities including Malaysia. After keying in the places you wanted to go, the Google map will direct you from your current place to your destination. To us, this is a really convenient technology provided by Google.

An Example of an E-Commerce Failure and its Causes

Kibu.com, a company which shutted down in 2000 just after 46 days online. The site was targeting teenage young girls focusing on fashion, music, and boys. Despite having US$22 million in funding from high-profile investors which included Jim Clark of Netscape fame, Kibu officials admitted bad market conditions for advertising-based business models convinced management and the investors to shut down the site.

The failure of Kibu.com was just like one of the many overfunded and under thought out initiatives in the kids and teens market. The massive amount of funding and low overhead costs might be one of the causes because most people learnt that running a dot-com was not that hard. However, poor management in a company causes crash and burn whether it's in sanitation or manufacturing or online. 46 days of operations were also not enough for getting the notice of targeted users.

Although kids market is profitable but the failure of Kibu.com was most probably caused by the mismanagement which leaded the company to shutting down. Its timing in financial markets could not have been worse.

I'm Jian Wei, who is a half west and half east Malaysian. Complicated? This is because my father is from K.L and my mother is from Sibu, Sarawak. Currently, I'm pursuing my Degree in Accounting at University Tunku Abdul Rahman. I prefer the life in K.L. My life here had been very wonderful with lots of friends and funs.

I like sports such as basketball, soft ball and etc. I had not been active in sports since I start my Degree course. That's why i'm now 210 pounds which is HUGE. I hope that I can cut down a little bit on my body weight, but i found that is a difficult task.

There is nothing much from me as I'm just an ordinary guy which have an ordinary life.

This is me, you can call me Boon Kith. I'm from Johor Bahru and currently taking accounting course in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in Bandar Sungai Long. I have met a lot of wonderful people in Kuala Lumpur and there were a lot of memorable experiences.
